What is an Enterprise Advisor?
Enterprise Advisors are our senior business volunteers who work closely with a local school or college to help develop a practical careers plan.
Why become an Enterprise Advisor?
Vounteering as an Enterprise Advisor can be incredibly rewarding. You’ll be supported by a trained, full-time Enterprise Coordinator and a range of practical resources to help you in your role. You can also benefit from peer support from other volunteers and broaden your network of contacts further.

What you’ll be doing
As an Enterprise Advisor you’ll work with a headteacher or careers lead to develop a careers plan that gives students multiple opportunities to learn about work.
This role is the perfect opportunity to share your insights about job opportunities and the key skills that local and national businesses need, and to use our research to choose the most effective careers programme providers and resources for your school or college.
Is being an Enterprise Advisor right for me?
Our Enterprise Advisors come from different industry sectors and professional backgrounds, be that employed, self-employed or recently retired. As an Enterprise Advisor you can use your unique business experience to inspire young people and prepare them for when they leave education.
You’ll gain new skills working with the senior leadership in a school and use your network to bring the right people together. If this appeals to you, and you are able to give around eight hours of your time a month over one academic year, we’d love to hear from you.
